South Florida Beef - Forage Program

FORAGE AND PASTURE MANAGEMENT SCHOOL

This course is sponsored by the South Florida Beef/Forage program of the University of Florida, Cooperative Extension Service. It is conducted with the volunteer assistance of area ranchers and producers. It is part of a continuing multi-county effort to help Central Florida beef producers market pounds of beef per cow, per acre operated profitably.

The purpose of this course is to strengthen the managerial capabilities of owners and operators of beef cattle ranches. This course is an intense course in forage production and management that will be offered in three, three day sessions in June, July and August. This course deals with practical topics in forage and pasture management including explanation of some basic concepts to support practical applications.

This is the fourth offering of this school. We strongly encourage you to consider attending yourself, and/or your personnel. This course has been approved for 3 hours of college credit form the University of Florida if tuition is paid to the University in addition to the cost of the school itself.

If you are interested in participating in the Forage and Pasture Management School, please contact your local County Extension Agent for registration information.
